Laura MRLS is known to experiment with various genres, portraying sounds ranging from atmospheric, melancholic to industrialesque and harsh elements. While focusing mostly on dark sound valleys the Helsinki-based artist reaches besides techno & electronic/a nowadays also into cinematic ambient, distorted and contemporary classical music. The resident artist of the well-known techno platform Monument is also co-founder of the experimental event and podcast series SYNAĒ and hosts a monthly radio show on IDA Radio Helsinki. Second alias: PSYCHATRIAN With eerie drone and experimental soundscapes, PSYCHATRIAN creates an environment to make the totality of the human mind escape into an internal direction where the stream of consciousness focuses on the current. The artist’s dark and melancholic touch blends in with inspirations from cinematic horror movie sounds and black metal but also incorporates unexpected genre switches. The project has come to life in 2018 and forms an extension of the alias Laura MRLS.
