MELANIN was born and currently lives in Paris.
DJ, producer and instrumentalist, she uses music to help form different understandings of her cultural and musical identity, due to her Senegalese and Franco-Algerian ethnic background. Based in Seoul, South Korea between 2018 and 2021 for studies then work in IT and event curation with web radio and museums, today she's a creative freelancer in Paris and resident broadcaster at Oroko Radio in Accra, Ghana.
As a DJ, her mixes are an invitation to travel and a reflection on identity linked to the African diaspora and club culture. Melanin has been composing and recording an EP mixing flute, ngoni, synthesizers, vocals with techno and jungle that will be released in 2023.
