Nicola Loporchio started producing dissonant house grooves in 2009, immediately attracting the attention of some of the best electronic music outputs in the underground scene with releases like his ‘Clouded Visions’ EP, on Josh Wink’s seminal Ovum Recordings. Off the back of this success, Nico Lahs touched base in some of the most prestigious clubs around the world, delivering DJ sets spanning through raw and authentic, US-style deep house to the dance floors at Cable, Club der Visionaere, Djoon, KaterHolzig, Rex Club, Sankeys, and Tresor. During this time, he also launched a celestial side project Cosmic Garden and label Cosmic Rhythm to push his love for other-worldly house and disco, which he still focuses on.
In 2020, he returned as Nico Lahs, releasing his debut album ‘Freedom’ on Detroit-born, Beijing -based label Adeen Records. As well as this Nico produced three new EPs, one being on Jimpster's esteemed Delusions of Grandeur, alongside a release on Dan Curtin’s Metamorphic Recordings and another on Brooklyn’s Dailysession Records, with all of them being very well received. 2022 started with the release of some fresh remixes for Alton Miller on Adeen Records, with more yet to follow. To add to these impressive remixes, he has released on the soulful and sophisticated Moods and Grooves, alongside plenty of new heat on labels such as Local Talk, Omena, 18437, Phonogramme, Selections, quintessentials, Roy Davis Jr.'s Undaground Therapy Muzik, his own U FIT, and much more to be announced soon.
