Nina de Koning is a rising star in the global DJ scene, earning recognition for her distinctive sound and impressive collaborations. Raised on the sounds of late ’90s house and trance, Nina’s musical journey began early. At just 11 years old, she first experimented with CDJs, laying the foundation for a career that would later include performances at prestigious venues and festivals such as Club NYX, Club Church, Milkshake Festival, Thuishaven, The Shelter London, Paradiso Amsterdam, Warehouse Elementenstraat, Reaktor’s Unpolished, Radion Amsterdam and A State of Trance Festival.
Her early passion for music led to an extensive collection of CDs and vinyl, inspiring her exploration of techno, hard groove and EBM. Immersed in Amsterdam’s vibrant queer scene, Nina’s exposure to diverse musical influences helped shape her artistic identity. By 16, she was producing her own tracks, and her creative partnership with Adriaan Oudemans gave rise to the duo Disk Space. Together, they released music on labels like Everyone On Acid and Neoacid and were invited by Ferry Corsten to remix his iconic ‘Dance Valley Theme 2001.’
As a solo artist, Nina has collaborated with powerhouse producers like Frankyeffe and David Forbes. Her debut solo EP, I Thought Getting Older Would Be More Fun, was released on her own label, The Factory. Originally launched in 2019 as a party concept to support the Aids Foundation, The Factory has since evolved into a platform for innovative electronic music, featuring artists such as Legowelt, OGUZ, Klangstof, and Regularfantasy.
From 2022 to 2024, Nina co-hosted A State of Trance alongside Armin van Buuren, further cementing her influence in the electronic music world. Beyond her musical achievements, she is a dedicated advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she participated in governmental discussions on the safety of the LGBTQ+ community and played a pivotal role in reopening queer nightlife spaces.
