When he’s not making music or playing live shows, you’ll catch Sharifa behind the decks - blending bass grime, garage, gqom and afro house into sets that are all about energy and making people move. He’s held down sets everywhere from Jumbi Peckham, Spiritland, The Lower Third to the NIKE Store in Kingston and recently played on Gimic Radio (Brussels), AAJA, Subtle Radio and Mode London. He’s just done Hör (Berlin) this August, and locked in a new monthly residency with Loose Fm alongside his Brixton Radio one. It’s a whole different thing from his artist project. Sharifa’s live shows and songwriting lean into pop, rock, indie and alternative sounds - full of emotion - but DJing’s a different world for him, all about rhythm, energy, testing blends, and getting people hyped. Less lyrics, more movement. From shelling parties to doing brand campaigns with Nike and Samsung, or jumping on last-minute slots, DJing’s become a key way Sharifa stays connected to scenes, cities and sound systems.
