New found sounds from Francesco Mingrino have arrived under the moniker Younger Than Me - an Italian native now based in Berlin. With early turns on labels like Bordello A Parigi, Amsterdam-Utrecht based platform XXX, Rotterdam’s Bar and Jennifer Cardini’s Dischi Autunno - the artist founded his own 90’s Wax imprint in 2017.
Delivering solo EPs and collaborations with the likes of Skatebård, Francesco Farfa and Timothy Clerkin - it’s a project that has come through his role as art director and co-owner of its parent label - Tusk Wax. Pushing a modern crossover of ‘90s influenced progressive house, trance, EBM, breakbeat and techno - it’s 90’s Wax that best defines the Italian’s love for modern influences of club music and idiosyncratic rave.
Approaching his DJ sets and productions with a fun yet forceful sound - Younger Than Me finds himself resident DJ at Tempio Del Futuro Perduto in Milan and a former selector at Dude Club / L'Osservatorio Astronomico. Previously headlining club nights at Le Sucre in Lyon, Ankali in Prague , Breakfast Club in Tel Aviv and the iconic Parisian party "Mess" in Italy he was a regular player alongside the late Andrew Weatherall - to the trusted support of Nosedrip and Roi Perez - while ranking up there alongside fellow compatriot Massimiliano Pagliara
Having founded a new DJ and production collaboration with Curses named Y2C - that sees the pair deliver their own version of ‘rave wave’ through their love for ‘80s new wave and ‘90s rave - the project’s initial charge can be heard on a killer B2B set recorded at Tempio Del Futuro Perduto. With mixes and podcasts stationed online for the likes of Live At Robert Johnson, Ransom Note and Is Burning, Younger Than Me is an old skool
