Minho Lee is a contemporary artist who made his debut in 2018 at the SVA Chelsea Gallery in    New York. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in 2019, he returned to   Korea. He took his first steps into the art world through a collaboration with Japanese       photographer Kunie Sugihara, and served as head director of Portrait Monologue, the           photography book by Michael Halsband — best known for his portraits of Andy Warhol and        Jean-Michel Basquiat — work that earned recognition for his curatorial sensibility and        visual insight.                                                                                                                                                                             In his early practice, Lee visualized genetic memory through the curves of light and          shadow, developing a mode of expression that extended photography from documentation into   emotional and abstract narrative. His signature series My Genes is held in the collection     of the Seoul National University Museum of Art (MoA).   After returning to Korea, he founded the independent gallery Jeoul, where he curated          exhibitions that bridged electronic music and contemporary art, expanding the boundaries   between media. He later developed Seoul Rave in Berlin, a project connecting Korean           artistic sensibility with Berlin's electronic music scene through performance.   He is currently founder and director of the contemporary art brand 1 OF 23, where — under     the premise that "contemporary art has itself become part of consumer culture" — he is   building visual systems that translate art into the language of everyday life
