Cryptofauna is 1/2 of Epikur & resident at PAL & kinky sundays. She digs the mix of sound, energy, love, light & darkness transported thru quirky progressive gems, twisted & saucy 90s techno, a touch of psy/trance as well as abstract & ethereal waves. ______________________________________________________ Cryptofauna became infatuated with electronic dance music by discovering Hamburg's vibrant club scene sometime around 2010. Going out every weekend back then, at some point the raver felt the urge to switch from floor to DJ booth. Classic story. So in 2010 she started collecting music and playing solo as well as with her duo project that goes by the name Epikur. Quite soon she got hold of her first residencies at EGO (Hamburg) and Der Stur (Münster), until she eventually helped raising awareness for Hamburg's highly acclaimed PAL, being an enthusiastic regular and inherent part of the club's resident roster since day one. During her time in Hamburg, Cryptofauna was a member of the Lehult label fam and co-created 206 - a series of parties that happened in several Hamburg and Berlin venues organized by a crew of close friends from 2013 till '19. As 2021 kicked off, she switched locations to Berlin and started working on a new project called exxcel, which lasted one summer and peaked with a well received hör showcase and the open air series LINK in cooperation with the Raiders crew. She refuses to decide between soft/hard, abstract/straightforward or oben/unten. That said, with her club-oriented sets she embraces quirky progressive gems as well as grainy, groovy and trippy 90s (acid) techno topped with warm layers of percussive momentums and a touch of psy, trance and hardcore. On a deeper note, Cryptofauna enjoys abstract, ethereal and IDM-infused goodness. Crypto has been part of various line ups at many of her favorite go to clubs – including Die Kraniche, Golden Pudel and PAL in Hamburg as well as Berghain/Panorama Bar, Ohm, Tresor, Oxi and Else in Berlin.
