Dream_E sound has been shaped over time and refined by a life well-lived – borne in the fringes of 90’s UK Techno; rife with nostalgia, emotion and memory. Both an ode to the past and a nod to an independent and creative future. Dream_E resides in Berlin, but his deep connection with Scotland’s wilderness cannot be separated from his organic productions – under aliases The Burrell Connection, Alfie and Highfield Casuals. When he knew his future lay in Berlin, his Scottish heritage was bubble-wrapped and stowed neatly beside his extensive hardware collection and arrived in Germany untarnished. Since his arrival in Berlin in 2019, Dream_E has enjoyed shows at the likes of Renata, Griessmuehle, home-grown forest raves with friends Or:la and Astral VIP, as well as returning to the UK for a string of DJ and Live shows. Dream_E’s story cannot be separated from his near-fatal encounter with the brain disease Encephalitis in 2021. The disease left him gravely ill, hospitalised for months, at points unable to walk, talk and breathe unassisted. Encephalitis has a monumental impact upon memory for many of its afflicted. Upon reflection and throughout recovery, Dream_E has used music as a means of self-therapy to regain memories that may have otherwise been lost to this cruel and vicious disease. The spiritual tie between music and memory is a cornerstone in all of his productions. ​ ​Post-recovery, 2022 sees Dream_E line up a whopping 7 records including 6 EPs and an album. The first 3 EPs will be self-released on his own imprint, The Burrell Connection, to raise money for the life-saving charity Encephalitis Society. Following this are records on Scottish imprints Craigie Knowes and Optimo Music as well as the sequel to Dreams On 22 for Pace Yourself.
