Héctor Oaks is a multifaceted DJ known for his characteristic vinyl-only gigs and fiery unpredictability. His hypnotic ghetto-tech, acid scorchers, technopunk and gritty post-industrial tracks have ignited dancefloors from Bassiani to Miami - his “Fuego” detonates like a hand-grenade into the core of dancefloors awakening the spirit of raves.
Born in the Spanish rave culture during the 90’s and influenced by his vinyl treasures unearthed in record stores all over the world, his performances melt at the speed of light, and with assurance and nerve, a mixture of Wave, Body Music, Proto-Techno, Bacalao and Berlin’s Techno.
Héctor Oaks began in Spain but gained international recognition after moving to Berlin. His unique vinyl-only style and flawless technique have energised dance floors at iconic clubs like Amnesia, Berghain or Basement New York among many others. His current residency at Bassiani offers unmissable opportunities to experience this forever burning “Fuego”.
His performances at major festivals across the globe- Awakenings, Dekmantel, Monegros, Sziget, Sónar, Timewarp, Tomorrowland…-are worth sweating for. On stage, his energy flies across the booth as a contagious trance, leaving behind historic moments like his B2B with Richie Hawtin at the Sonar in Lisbon.
He unashamedly blends contemporary tracks with hand-picked gems from rave culture's history. As soon as the music plays, he morphs into his characteristic 2step dance, creating an endlessly in motion atmosphere inside and outside the stage. A contagious euphoria that transcends beyond music.
Héctor Oaks founded his first label, OAKS, in 2016, which produced unmissable tracks ranging from fast techno to acid, EBM and post-industrial, house and tribal, and enjoyed collaborations with legendary artists and new underground producers. In 2018, he released his debut album "As We Were Saying."
In 2019, he founded his second label, KAOS, aiming to push the boundaries of dance music. KAOS is more than just a label, it’s a free environment where likeminded artists showcase their work- a collective movement where genius unpredictability flourishes, like the single "No Hay Mañana" featuring Coco Paloma.
His second album, "Fuego Universal" (2023), fuses rap and techno into explosive anthems, futuristic, nostalgic and distinctively his own. It is inflamed with vocals by friends like Patrick Mason, or Madrid rappers Ill Pekeño & Ergo Pro. “Fuego” isn’t just a vibe, it’s a religion.
Héctor recently relocated his studio to Madrid; forging a hub for techno innovation where the genre's plasticity can be fully explored without the constraints of traditional rules. His passion for creating music assures us that his creative energy and effusive passiondrive will continue to burn brightly in rave culture for many years to come.
