MAN FROM RIO is the alter ego of Lucca Lasmar, a DJ and cultural curator from Rio de Janeiro. Over 13 years of DJing and crate-digging, he has built a signature sound that
threads Brazilian and Latin American textures through dance music, moving across
house, disco, baile funk and electronica. A specialist in extended sets, he has played solo
for 10 hours straight to a crowd of 700.
Throughout his career, he has shared line-ups with Dixon, Jane Fitz and Danny Krivit,
opened for DJ Hell and closed after Bonobo. As a curator, he founded Madre, a Rio club
that hosted DJs from 20 countries, and led Coletivo Pirajá, praised by the Louis Vuitton
City Guide. He holds residencies at Soga Sounds (Rio), where crowds exceed 2,500, and
The Boogie (São Paulo and Lisbon), and has performed at major Brazilian clubs and
festivals such as D-Edge, Rock The Mountain and Muriqui Sounds.
Since 2025, his career has been gaining international momentum, with shows in Ibiza,
New York and Miami. In 2026, based in Portugal, he is touring Europe with dates at
Lux Frágil (Lisbon), Pamela (Paris), HÖR (Berlin) and Immersion Festival (Iceland), plus
editions of Jam From Rio, his own party, in Marseille and Lisbon, where it has already sold
out. It’s a moment that cements MAN FROM RIO as a bridge between Rio’s dance floors
and the global circuit.
