Miso Extra is the solo project and moniker behind the fast-rising, trailblazing artist. Born in Hong Kong to a British father and Japanese mother, she moved to Japan when she was a child and later relocated to the UK. Growing up, she learnt how to play the violin and loved to sing. Her musical influences include J Dilla, the late MF DOOM, Daft Punk and Kelis. In May 2025, she released her eagerly awaited debut album Earcandy - a sophisticated and self-aware pop record that takes listeners on a journey through lovelorn vulnerability, growth, and self-empowerment. Blending genres like K-Pop, UK Garage, 80s sonics, and R&B, Earcandy showcases Miso Extra’s genre-defying style.
Miso Extra brings this eclecticism to her DJ-ing, mixing 2000’s pop bangers to Japanese hyper pop and techno. She previously performed a secret set to an overcrowded Wishing Well tent at Glastonbury in 2024 and The Cause in London as well as being invited to mix live on Foundation FM and played a set for the Parisian platform ID*Room
