London born, Budapest raised, Sonic Rain’s eclectic electronic style reflects the diversity of his homes and his sounds are set to continue spreading worldwide in 2024. To say that Sonic Rain’s musicality was diverse may be selling him short. Boris Garland trained as a contemporary drummer and classical pianist from a young age before he began to delve into the world of electronic music which could be what creates his soundscape of electronic genres. In his productions, you can hear elements of groovy techno, breakbeat and '90s rave, tied together in a unique package - done his way. Before moving to Bristol in 2018 Sonic Rain made an impression on the Budapest Drum & Bass scene having resident DJ slots at club nights and playing at illegal raves. The strength of his live performances pushed him to appear several times on pirate radio and managed to link him with various promoting agencies, landing him DJ sets on the A38 ship and at club Akvárium. Currently residing in Budapest, Sonic Rain is making an impact on more of Europe with a busy tour schedule that included gigs at Sziget Festival and Balaton Sound this past summer and a debut Boiler Room set in December. His music is being supported internationally by heavyweight DJs including Nastia, Daria Kolosova, X-Coast and Estella Boersma, so stay tuned as it’s about to pour for Sonic Rain.
