Terms and Conditions for HÖR x Voltage.Labs DJ Contest

1. Eligibility
1.1. The contest is open to individuals aged 18 years or older.
1.2. Participants must have an active membership on HOER DOT LIVE GmbH (hereafter referred to as “HÖR”). Both free and paying members can submit DJ sets and vote.
1.3. Only paying members will have access to additional features, such as adding a bio, social links, and a “Contact Now” button to their profiles.
1.4. Employees, contractors, and affiliates of HÖR or contest sponsors are not eligible to participate.
2. Contest Period
2.1. The contest will run from 3 April 2025 to 30 April 2025.
2.2. HÖR reserves the right to modify, extend, or discontinue future contests at its discretion. There is no commitment to run contests on a monthly basis.
3. Submission Rules
3.1. Participants can submit one (1) DJ mix per contest period.
3.2. The submitted mix must be an original work by the participant. Use of copyrighted material, plagiarism, or unauthorized work will result in disqualification.
3.3. Submissions must not exceed a length of one hour.
3.4. All submissions must comply with our [community guidelines and terms of service], including but not limited to refraining from offensive, illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content. HÖR reserves the right to moderate, remove, or disqualify any content that violates these rules at its sole discretion.
3.5. Participants are required to use the official artwork provided by HÖR for the contest. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
3.6. By participating in the contest, users agree to comply with SoundCloud’s Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations regarding the content uploaded to SoundCloud. Any breach may result in disqualification.
3.7. If a DJ mix is removed by SoundCloud for any reason, HÖR is not responsible for the removal or any consequences, including disqualification.
3.8. Participants found to be using artificial means (e.g., bots, purchased votes, vote swapping) to boost submissions will be disqualified. HÖR reserves the right to investigate anomalies and remove suspected votes at its sole discretion.
4. Voting
4.1. Voting is open to all HÖR members (free and paying).
4.2. Participants may not vote for their own submissions.
4.3. Attempts to manipulate or artificially influence the vote count may result in disqualification or vote deletion, as determined by HÖR.
5. Finalists and Winners
5.1. The top ten (10) finalists will be selected based on community votes.
5.2. From these finalists, the HÖR x Voltage.Labs teams will select the top three (3) winners.
5.3. The winners and finalists will be announced on HÖR’s and Voltage.Labs’ websites and social media.
5.4. HÖR and Voltage.Labs reserve the right to determine the timing and format of the finalist announcements and social media recognition.
5.5. Each participant may only win once per contest period.
6. Prizes
1st Place will receive:
- A DJ slot on HÖR
- Flight & accommodation at 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin
- 2 x Technics SL-1210 (black) Turntables
- Feature on HÖR and Voltage.Labs’ social media channels
2nd Place will receive:
- A DJ slot on HÖR
- Technics EAH-DJ 1200 Headphones
- €250 Thomann voucher
3rd Place will receive:
- A DJ slot on HÖR
- Technics EAH-DJ 1200 Headphones
- €100 Thomann voucher
6.3. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or alternatives unless agreed upon by HÖR.
7. Rights and Usage
7.1. By submitting a mix, participants grant HÖR the right to use, promote, and distribute the mix on its platform and social media, without further compensation.
7.2. Participants retain ownership of their work but agree that HÖR may use it for promotional purposes.
8. Disqualification and Liability
8.1. HÖR may disqualify any participant who violates these Terms or engages in fraudulent activity.
8.2. HÖR is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury incurred in connection with this contest.
8.3. Participants are solely responsible for ensuring their content complies with applicable laws and regulations.
9. Data Protection
9.1. HÖR processes personal data in accordance with the German Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
9.2. Personal data collected during the contest will be used only for administering the contest and communication.
9.3. Participants can request access to or deletion of their data by emailing: support@hoer.live
10. Amendments
10.1. HÖR may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time.
10.2. Participants will be notified of significant changes via their registered email address.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
11.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
11.2. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Berlin, Germany.
