Lewis G. Burton is an internationally renowned DJ, performance artist, curator and activist. They have been at the forefront of London’s underground queer scene for over a decade nurturing the next generation of trans revolutionaries, queer techno goths, artists, club kids and drag queens.
Burton also runs queer techno rave come art platform INFERNO. INFERNO was founded in 2015 and is a club night that champions trans+, non-binary and femme identifying creatives. As an extension of the club night they also curate an annual seminar the INFERNO SUMMIT which explores nightlifes relation to art, culture, music and identity. INFERNO has received support from the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) in recent years.
Spanning eight years Burton’s DJ career has had them play all over the world from Paris to Berlin to Lisbon as well as touring India. They released their first EP entitled ‘Pain Relief’ in 2019 with lead track ‘Hermaphrodite’ a techno banger with an avant-garde grotesque retelling of the birth of Venus.
Burton is an original member of London Trans+ Pride since 2016 fighting for the rights of transgender, intersex and non-binary people as well as organising their annual marches to oppose transphobic legislation, the right to self-identification as well as intersex and non-binary rights. They have also worked with collectives such as Pxssy Palace and Harpies.
